Disco Ball Eyes

  1. Prime lids with Urban Decay Primer Potion.
  2. Using a crease brush(no name)apply BareMinerals "faux fox" eyeshadow in the crease of the lid.
  3. Use a blending brush(sephora professional "blending eye" brush 29) to blend eyeshadow out and upwards to the brow bone.
  4. Using a pencil brush(no name) apply BareMinerals "cultured pear" eyeshadow to the brow bone and blend.
  5. Apply NYX jumbo eye pencil in"pots & pans"to the lid from the crease downwards.
  6. NOTE: Glitters are VERY MESSY so you may want to do your foundation routine after you apply the glitter to your eyes.
  7. Using a flat (concealer) brush to pick up NYX "disco ball" glitter and apply it (in a patting motion) over "pots & pans" shadow on the lid. You can also use a EYE glue on your lids to make the glitter stick a bit longer (i didn't because Maddie spilled all of mines and i didn't have a chance to reorder one :(
  8. Line waterline and bottom lids with the "pots & pans" eye pencil.
  9. Pat on the glitter that's leftover on your brush on the bottom lids.
  10. Use false lashes of your choice.
  11. Apply Mascara of your choice to top and bottom lashes.
  12. Fill out the brows using NYX automatic eyebrow pencil in "medium brown"
  13. Apply a peach color blush (no name) to cheeks using BareMinerals "angled face" brush.
  14. Apply Mac "kinda sexy" lipstick to lips and apply a clear gloss over it.
PLEASE NOTE: The products that I've used with "no name" are products I bought at hair shows and elsewhere and their not labelled to a specific brand or company so I don't have much info on them EXCEPT that their compared to high end brands and works just as great without spending alot of money. Their quality products in my eyes and as long as they work I will continue to use them.

Simple Black Smokey Eyes.

Just keep in mind that "Smokey Eyes" is a technique and NOT a color.

This technique can be created in any color of your choice.

  1. Prime eyes using Urban Decay "Primer Potion"
  2. Apply NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil Liner in "Black Bean' as a shadow  base.
  3. Apply Mac "Carbon" eyeshadow to lids using BareMinerals shadow contour brush
  4. Apply Mac 'Carbon" shadow to bottom lids using BareMinerals Smudge brush.
  5. Blend eyeshadow using a blending brush( i used a no name blending brush i bought at a hair show) and blending shadow upwards in the crease and the brow bone so the color slighlty fades away as it reaches the brow bone.
  6. You can choose whether or not you want to blend your shadow outwards giving it that "wing out" appeal or you can blend the shadow inwards ( like I did) ending the shadow exactly above the lids ( like I did).
  7. Apply a matte white shadow with a pencil brush ( I used a shadow from my Manly eyeshadow palette) to the brow bone and blend.
  8. Apply BareMinerals "Cultured Pearl" shadow over the matte white shadow to highlight the brow bone.
  9. Line Waterline using NYX "white" eyeliner pencil (I did) or a black eyeliner pencil for a darker look.
  10. Apply Dior iconic 090 (black) mascara.
  11. Line brows using Anastasia Brow powder.
  12. Apply Mac "Margin" blush to cheeks using BareMinerals "angled face" brush.
  13. Outline Lips using a nude Lipliner.
  14. Apply Mac "viva glam Gaga 2" lipstick to lips.
  15. Apply any lashes of your choice.

Choosing the Right Concealer

QUESTION: I want to understand undereye concealer and how i would find the right shade.

ANSWER: Choose a concealer with UNDERTONES in the shade of the UNDERTONES of your skin.
  • Use a concealer that's right for your skin TYPE.
  •  Using a concealer that matches you skin TYPE will not slide off  the face and won't clog your pores thus creating a better application, coverage and look.
  • Most people have a yellow or pink skin undertone.
  • When choosing a concealer for dark circles under the eyes DO NOT choose a yellow toned concealer even if your skin's undertone is yellow because layering  yellow toned concealers over  dark circles can create a grayish look and draw more attention to that area.
  • Choose a Neutral Warm shade which has pink(being the cool undertone) and beige(being the warm undertone also being in the yellow family of undertones) because they are opposite each other on the color wheel so when mixed they cancel(neutralize) each other out so that means for your undereye being either a yellow or pink undertone it can be cancelled when you choose a concealer that's in the neutral warm shade.
  • I'm using the color wheel to help you (complicated stuff i tell ya. LOL...)

  • Apply concealer in a tapping motion leaving it to melt(body temperature) for a couple of minutes then blend using your fingers or a brush or a sponge, I personally use my fingers to tap and blend it out which is much more gentle when working under the eye area and prevents creasing.
  • I hope this helps and goodluck on the your concealer hunt.

Black and Pink Smokey Eyes

Hello out there in Makeup land. Well this is my first time blogging so please bare with me as I'm still learning my way around the world of blogging. Just little bit of info about yours truely before I give you the complete info in this makeup lookk and I promise ill will keep it short and simple :) So my name is Carolyn ( for those of you who didn't already know) i'm a stay at home mom to very beautiful, smart and spunky 2 years old little girl named Madison. I'm a licensed cosmetologist for a little over 4years now but i'm focusing mostly on makeup which i'm completetly self taught and im still learning so i wouldn't consider myself a pro (well not as yet) but im getting there.
Now  on to the makeup look. I do have quite a few makeup looks that I've done but ill start with my most recent. I just wanna mention that most of my looks will be created from inexpensive cosmetic brands to help you girls and guys create the same quality of work as you would using the expensive brands. So i'm here to help the makeup needy and prevent putting you in debt. LOL....

  1. So I started by priming the eyelids using a the Urban Decay primer potion
  2. Also primed the lids after the portion withNYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in "Milk"
  3. Blended it with my fingers
  4. Used Mac Carbon eyeshadow applied to lid using Mac 213 fluff brush
  5. Applied a bright matte pink eyeshadow from manly eyeshadow palette (got it as a present) sorry i dont have the info on this palette. You can use a bright pink eyeshadow from the 88 palette, 120 palette just to name a few ( ill do a seperate blog on these palettes) I bought all my palettes from ebay. Applied the pink shadow along the brow crease using a Bareminerals crease brush.
  6. Blended the carbon shadow into the bright pink shadow using a Mac 217 blending brush
  7. Applied Bareminerals eyeshadow in "Cultured Pearl" along the brow bone.( and of course BLEND).
  8. Lined the waterline with Mac khol eye pencil in "smolder"
  9. Using Mac 263 small angle brush applied Mac "Carbon" to the bottom lash line then applied the bright matte pink using a smusher brush
  10. I applied a matte grey form my manly palette to the tear dots. (BLEND).
  11. For my brows i used Anatasia brow powder duo in "Brunette/dark brown"
  12. I used Mac "Pinch Me" blush on my cheeks.
  13. I used Mac "Girl About Town" on my lips then applied Mac clear lipglass.
  14. Lashes i used were bought from one of those booths that sells HelloKitty stuff  in the mall and they come in a pack of 12. I really dont like them so i barely use them in this case i used them because i ran out of lashes and i didn't wanna apply lash extensions.
So i hope you enjoy creating this look and just have fun with it.
Happy Glaming. :)
